Eating: WACK ARTISTS ALIVE, SHITTIN' OUT WACOM PENS...
Drinking: WATER (gotta wash 'em down!)
Ok, I get a lot of emails from people. A LOT. Most of them, from students, aspiring artists and the like. And the most annoying questions I get ( even though i still answer them to the best of my abilities) is shit like this:
" I like your art. How can i be you?"
" You're where i wanna be. How can i get there?"
" Any advice on how to become a better artist?"
" I wanna make a name for myself with my art. But my art sucks. Can you fix it?"
" How do i draw like Masashi Kishimoto by tomorrow morning?"
It's frikkin ANNOYING! It's like, how could these people have functioned BEFORE the interwebs?! lol.
When i was their age, there WAS no internet. NO cell phones. And yet, i still managed to get what i wanted by sheer drive and devotion and passion and hustle and ......PRACTICING EVERYDAY!
I STILL PRACTICE EVERYDAY!!!!!
The answer is: There is no easy way to this. It ALL comes down to the work. There is no other way around it. So, to you people out there who are sitting around waiting for a magic button to take all your drawing woes away, make you faster or become Michaelangelo over night, FORGET IT! Buckle your lazy, impatient asses down and get the work done! Thats what i do!
Another thing people need to realise is that people who have "Natural Talent" aren't born with it. I hate that term to be honest. these people have been drawing EVERYDAY since they were toddlers to adult and that is their practice. to them it wasn't practice because it was something they just did. you ask any artist when they started drawing they wall say the same thing (usually) when they were young as. you will never find an artist that says they only started drawing the previous day or week and are at Micheal Angelo level EVER. unless someday in the near future they can implant crap into your head like neo got for learning kungfu in the matrix lol.
if everyone started drawing at 4 years old the ones that continue will develop their skill as they progress and the ones that stop at lets say 6 y.o will remain with the skill they had at 6. so in order to get back on the horse they need to go back to the basics and continue from where they left off. I don't know if that makes sense, but it was something we were discussing in class.
where have you been all my life, thats exactly what ive been saying did mj born dancing this good ? or did he lock himself in a room from tiny mj and danced everyday , hard hard work , like MJ ( NBA ) played hours each day every major artist, was drawing hours, hand hurting, still drawing...
and some people turn around and say owww i cant draw, i dont have talent i think some people use the word wrong, they say talent , like it takes no effort, but someone said it good , it takes skills to show your talent and it takes practice to show your skilled with your talent lol
lol Real talk Les I'm still a work in progress but people keep telling me how they want to draw like me overnight and I'm like "Bitch I SUCK so how can I be the sumtotal of your ambitions" Thanks for keepin it real
BTW when and how how can I get a hold of Cannon Busters? This anxiety is like an itch i cant scratch
"THEIR IS NO FREE LUNCH" Practice... !
