Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

In answer to the many emails here, on FB, my website, again, i will again be lame and will not be attending any comic book conventions this year. For obvious reasons; Creating-Creating-Creating in Korea. :-) However, I hope you guys get out there to those conventions & hustle your product, meet your favorite artists, support Artists Alley and help keep the animation/comic industry flourishing!

The good news is that i will be moving back to America in October so I'll definitely be making appearances next con season. 2 years will have gone by already?! sheesh!  Lot's of exciting things I'm involved in as well as my own projects in the works that you will be hearing about/seeing bits from in the next few months as i draw nearer to completion. :-)

Who are you most anticipating shaking hands with at the cons this year?!

You of course...that'll be the day as well as Felipe Smith, you're the top 2 artist I talk about on the street when they ask what I want to do in life...I say I wanna succeed like you guys do and work hard
