One of my inspirational motivators and regular MSN homies, the phenomenal FELIPE SMITH , the first --and for the moment --- only Westerner to have been successful, independently, to publish during a long period of time a monthly series at the biggest Japanese publisher (Peepo Choo, Kôdansha, 3 volumes), takes time out of his insane schedule to give advice to all aspiring MANGAKAS wanting to make a career in JAPANESE COMICS IN JAPAN as a foreigner.

Really appreciate the link, it's wonderful that more information like this is available on the web. First time I remember being exposed to the manga work ethic was Jump's Bakuman, it's nice to hear from some real artists for a change.

I am glad people are looking into his work. I have been a fan of his since MBQ but we all know how hard it is to start anything, besides a major business, in America.

'don't know if that was supposed to be discouraging or inspiring. Either way, making Manga is not my jam. Props to the effort ya'll are putting into this business.

depends on your attitude ; If it is beyond your personal capabailities, then it is discouraging. If it's something you're all about, then its proof of what can be done if you work hard. :-)

I was expecting this post to be two words:

"You can't."

But instead, I got useful information. That's a first. Thanks.

"you can't" is why most freeze themselves to do anything groundbreaking at all.

You don't always have to believe what you think :-)

The two words you should take from this is " HARD WORK "

He repeats it quite often and that trumps "you cant" all the time.

good luck in your personal mission towards your dreams!
