Not happy about the quality of this promo, but I'm "smash-face-against-keyboard" excited for the show itself. I still watch TLA over again every 2-3 months. Hard to believe nickelodeon made it still, but thank god they did. deviantART muro drawing
I never saw it until recently, but the "add a drawing" feature is probably my favorite thing about DA. It's also easy when you have good inspiration to riff off of! I have to say, you and Ben Li both have reminded me how much I loved anime, and how little I allow it to influence my work even though it was a large part of my childhood, so thanks
Looks decent so far but Ill reserve my judgement until I can see a full season of this. I liked the production decisions that were made in the first one. The ideas stayed fresh as time went on and they did cool stuff with the bending powers. I hope they keep it at least half as interesting.
Is it true that the creation of this series was only due to the requests of whatever big-wigs knowing how well "Avatar: lta" did? I heard somewhere that the creators of the show didn't even want to continue after it was over.
I haven't heard much about that but I agree with you because of the title: "The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra." In the first series, The Last Airbender was the subtitle to Avatar, denoting that the main character who was the avatar was the last airbender. But in the trailer(s), I believe I saw more than one airbender, making "The Last Airbender" in the new title irrelevant as well as the fact that the titular character Korra is originally of the Water tribe. I think the title should have been "Avatar: The Legend of Korra" but they probably went with the "The Last Airbender" title to tie it to the film.
Actually, the original title was "Avatar: The Legend of Korra." But due to some issues with the copyrights related to the James Cameron film "Avatar" they changed the title to include the TLA reference. Since they already hold the "The Last Airbender" copyright, it was less complicated and also more marketable to use the title "The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra" for the series, in anticipation of future products, such as toys and clothing. The name is only applicable in the USA, however. The international release title is still "Avatar: The Legend of Korra." More in-depth info here: [link]
hahaha. I head that Sokka wasn't even apart of the original story line but the voice actor was so hilarious that they added more scenes for him and of course some input from the voice actor. It does seem impossible, my fellow fan, but I hope there is something at least close to that humor in Korra. But Sokka's voice... yeah that does seem a bit hopeless (unless they get the same voice actor, but we'd recognize that in an instant!)
I know they were created at the same time. I meant in Brian's interview he said that Sokka wasn't supposed to be any more involved than a few episodes, but added him in as a full-time character because of the voice actor.
