CANNONBUSTERS COVER PENCILS by LeSeanThomas CANNONBUSTERS COVER PENCILS by LeSeanThomas
Here's the pencils to the wraparound cover of Cannon Busters #1.
believe it or not, i wasnt the most pleased with this piece, as i wanted
to add MORE charcaters on the cover, lol. its a minor disappointment in light of the
coloring genius of this piece's final version done by Udon's own Arnold Tsang.
i also gave arnold a color call-out guide of this piece. Flats of all the characters
actual colors. the lighting was all him. sick job.

Truly remarkable. This piece makes me want to start up my old comic again. The motion and the perspective realy drags you into it. (Strangely, the main character reminds me of one of my own characters for a comic I'm planning. I guess I'll have to change him a bit then...) Your work is inspiring to say the least, I'll have to check back here from time to time.

Woah.. Negative space is seriously lacking in this piece, it's supper busy. But of course that is very appropriate for a comic book cover since your supposed to be grabbing the attention of a hyperactive 12 year old. I'd love to see it wen it's colored It will be easier to digest then. It's awesome though, it deffinetly appeals to my inner 12 year.

why a 12 year old, specifically? i'm curious on your theory:) also this was well thought out before drawn.
and i drew inspiration from Capcom, who is LEGENDARY for copius amounts of characters in a single illo, ie; capcom illustations, capcomdesignworks, etc.

also if you wanna see the final colored piece just browse through my gallery, its all there. :) thanks!

Well 12-17 more like it. I would imagine that is the largest age group that would buy the fighting game series and ninja turtle series of comics. I know that older age groups also buy those comics I'm just saying that they are the primary target.

The cover is very well composed, but it's hyperactive. This is of course perfect for what it is. I just remeber which comics caught my eye when I was about that age. It wasn't sin city or preacher or anything else that looked like it had too much drama, it was the action and funny stuff that I liked.

More characters! Where would you put them?

Your wraparound covers are otherworldly, yeah, that's my new word to describe your work.

Man, I love Arn's work! Hope I see this colored as well, perhaps in the comic shop.

I really like how your line weight doesn't vary too much throughout the whole composition.
How many drafts or sketches does it usually take you to make something like this?
